Sprout Foods, an organic baby food brand committed to honesty and transparency, has launched a clear food pouch for its line of organic baby food. The updated line features existing Sprout Organic Baby Food flavors in a transparent pouch so parents can see what is inside.

Sprout Foods was the first company to introduce organic baby food in a convenient pouch, which set the stage for the pouch trend back in 2009, according to the company. The brand recently released eight product varieties in clear pouches with plans to release 20 by December 2016.

"Moms want to know what's in their baby's food, and what better way to give them that peace of mind than by actually showing it to them before they purchase it," says Rick Klauser, CEO of Sprout Foods. "Sprout has always been committed to honest transparency in all that we do starting from carefully sourced ingredients, like whole organic fruits and vegetables, to creating innovative clean recipes. We made it our mission to transition all our recipes to clear pouches. We are proud of our existing recipes and have nothing to change."

Consumer demand for more transparency in the food space has been increasing in recent years. Sprout Foods has followed this trend since the company was founded in 2009.

"What you see on the front of our packaging is what you'll see at the top of our ingredient list. We're the only brand dedicated to honesty in our product names across all of our lines, and that's where some competitors fall short," Klauser says. "We have been honest since the day we launched and are devoted to continuing to deliver products that parents can feel good about giving to their children."
