Interstate Warehousing, Inc. has broken ground on a $30 million, 250,000-sq.-ft. cold storage warehouse facility, with approximately 30,000 pallet positions and state-of-the-art equipment, in Anderson, IN. The project is expected to completed in the third quarter of 2018 and will create approximately 60 jobs.
Phase 1 of the project, which is being built by Tippmann Construction, is scheduled to begin before the end of this year.
Diageo bringing 2 distilleries back to life
World-renowned Scotch whisky company, Diageo, is spending £35 million to reopen the PORT Ellen and Brora distilleries, which were closed 34 years ago. The Port Ellen Distillery on the island of Islay and Brora on the eastern coast of Sutherland will distill in carefully controlled quantities. The sites of both distilleries will include cask filling and traditional warehousing.
Confectionery company acquisition concluded
The Ferrero Group has announced that an affiliated company has completed its acquisition of Ferrara Candy Company from L Catterton. Ferrara will operate as a separate unit and will maintain its own headquarters, in addition to its existing manufacturing, distribution and engineering/R&D facilities.
