Beer can graphics makeover

French brewery adopts new look for its flagship beer cans.

Pw 5155 Kronenbourg

Located in Strasbourg, France, in the France/Germany border region, Brasseries Kronenbourg is the largest French brewery and part of the Carlsberg Group. In February 2009, the brewer adopted a new look for its Kronenbourg and 7.2 flagship beer cans. The new cans are supplied and printed by Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc. (www.crowncork.com).

Using Crown’s high-quality Pictoris® print technology with its proprietary separation techniques and high-resolution printing plates, Kronenbourg has accomplished a more vibrant look for the cans. Printed in six colors, the cans feature a high-definition golden Kronenbourg logo bordered by water droplet art as well as vivid images set against a red or purple background.

Raphael Prevot, brand group manager for Kronenbourg, says, “Working with Crown, we were able to develop a new can that was still immediately brand-recognizable and truly evocative of Kronenbourg’s quality.”
