China Projected To Surpass U.S. As Largest Pvc User

The growing share of plastics in packaging applications is one of the primary drivers behind a demand for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in China forecast to rise 8% annually to 12 million metric tons by 2010. Clear Choice Awards Call For Entries

March 30 is the deadline for postmarking entries for the Glass Packaging Institute’s (GPI) 2007 Clear Choice Awards. Awards are for glass-packed products launched after April 2005 and packaged in North America. Entries are judged on aesthetics, creativity, marketability, form, and functionality. There is no entry fee, regardless of GPI membership, and items may be entered into more than one category. Packaging machinery exports rise from 2005

U.S. exports of packaging equipment increased 7% from January through November 2006 compared to that same period in 2005, totaling U.S. $783 million. The data is based on U.S. Census estimates and was reported by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (www.pmmi.org).
