Cobots demonstrate batch-of-one capabilities, Industry 4.0
A demonstration at Staubli’s booth features three of its TX2 series six-axis industrial robots assembling a customized vitamin pack order, including initial picking of sachet packs to the customer’s specifications, inspecting and orienting them, printing a label for the customized order, and placing them in a cup. The demo highlights Staubli’s capabilities with man/robot collaboration, Industry 4.0, and batch-of-one packaging.

Perforated shrink film for beverage multipacks makes separation a snap
Using a patented film perforation process, Coveris has created the DuraLite Smart Pack, which offers new flexibility and convenience functions for shrink-wrapped beverages. The film—an alternative to a conventional shrink-wrap film or a paperboard carton for beverage multipacks—allows the consumer to break off different can counts, for example, two cans from a 12-pack, while keeping them unitized. The film can be run on existing shrink-film equipment and can be recycled within the PE stream.
