Garden Fresh Gourmet opened the Great Lakes HPP Food Innovation Center in Taylor, MI on April 5. Featuring one of the largest high-pressure processing machines available, the 40,000-square-foot facility was established to help Michigan’s food processors extend the shelf life of their products via a pasteurization technique using cold-water pressure. The $8 million, 220,000-pound machine can handle up to 70 million pounds of food per year.

The center also will offer lab testing for food businesses. Once it is fully operational, the facility will be staffed by approximately 50 employees. Garden Fresh Gourmet became a part of the Campbell Soup Co. in 2015.
