Nestlé building new coffee factory in Mexico

Will be designed with sustainability in mind

Nestlé is spending $154 million to build a new coffee factory in Veracruz, Mexico. The facility is expected to process approximately 20,000 tons of locally sourced green coffee a year and will be equipped with state-of-the-art environmental technologies, including the treatment and reuse of water, the use of 100 percent of its coffee waste to produce energy and utilizing 100 renewable electricity.

 

Initially, the factory will employ create 250 jobs. It has the potential to provide 1,200 jobs at the end of its expansion.
