Hometown Food Company buys assets from The J.M. Smucker Company

Hometown Food Company has paid approximately $375 million to acquire a portfolio of The J.M. Smucker Company brands, including the exclusive US rights to the Pillsbury branded shelf-stable baking and dessert products and the use of the Pillsbury Doughboy in these categories, as well as the Funfetti, Hungry Jack, White Lily, Jim Dandy and Martha White brands.

The company has hired Daniel Butler, most recently the president and CEO of Wilton Brands, LLC, as its new president and CEO. Tim Young, David Meltzer and Dan Anglemyer are joining Hometown Foods as its CFO, EVP of sales and chief marketing officer, respectively.
