The TE lid is from Huhtamaki. It involves a paperboard insert that goes to an injection molding machine in a Huhtamaki facility where polypropylene is injection molded around it. The idea here is to provide an alternative to an aluminum foil inner seal. The new TE lid, says Huhtamaki, is a more effective method of providing tamper evidence compared to the foil seal, and it should also bring some cost savings.
