Nestlé 'concentrates' on tea packaging

In May, Glendale, CA-based Nestlé USA introduced Nestea iced tea concentrate in a striking custom-molded bottle supplied by Continental Plastics Container (Elk Grove Village, IL). The bottle includes a measuring chart along the side that shows how much tea to use per quart of water.

Additional bottle features include a shrink-sleeve label that stretches from the neck of the bottle to a ridge at its center, and brand-identifying logos molded into the container’s base.

Nestlé USA spokespeople wouldn’t divulge complete details about material specs and filling technologies. However, industry sources indicate that the Lamicon® bottle, made primarily of polypropylene and other barrier materials, is filled at a Nestlé facility in Canada. The “7—other” resin identification is molded into the bottle’s bottom.
