End users, Pmmi members to talk training

uIn mid-March, the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) announced a Technical Training Community of Practice (COP), an open forum for end users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to address common challenges in operator training in order to develop best practices and define expectations. The COP will provide input to the PMMI Certified Trainer program.

The COP will hold quarterly meetings and be hosted by participating end users. The first meeting was hosted February 13 by Kroger Foods in Cincinnati. Anheuser-Busch and Kraft Foods were among the end-user firms in attendance. The next COP meeting is scheduled for June 13 at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis.

A virtual posting board and file exchange program has been established for COP members to post questions and discussion points on training issues that may arise between meetings. The forum can be accessed at www.pmmi.org/certified. For more information about PMMI’s Certified Trainer program, contact Maria Ferrante at 703/243-8555, or e-mail her at [email protected].
