Sidel Inc: Bottle Barrier Treatment

The New Actis™ 48 from Sidel applies bottle barrier treatments at high speeds, depositing a thick layer of hydrogen-rich amorphous carbon inside a PET bottle.

Pw 9580 E Sidel

By reducing CO2 loss and O2 ingress, the process extends the shelf life of sensitive drinks like beer, CSDs, juice, or tea packaged in PET bottles to 600 mL in size. Two types of barrier treatment are available. Actis™ offers a coating time of 2.5 sec, treatment thickness of 0.15 microns, and output rates of 30ꯠ bph. Actis Lite™ offers a coating time of 1.2 sec, treatment thickness of 0.06 microns, and output rates of 40ꯠ bph.
