Bartelt, a ProMach product brand and expert in pouching and cartoning systems, will showcase a broad portfolio of flexible packaging, cartoning, integrated automation, and large-format bagging solutions in Booth S-3658 at PACK EXPO 2026, October 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
Through live equipment demonstrations, attendees will see how Bartelt, together with fellow ProMach brands and strategic partners, helps manufacturers streamline packaging operations from primary packaging through end-of-line automation.
Featured exhibits will include a Bartelt, Matrix, and Quest integrated packaging line, a Bartelt cartoning system paired with INVpack stickpack technology, and Umbra's large-format bagging solutions. Together, these demonstrations showcase how manufacturers can build efficient packaging operations spanning flexible packaging, cartoning, palletizing, and large-format bagging applications.
Bartelt's MAG-R horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) poucherBartelt
MAG-R HFFS Machine Integration with Quest Robotics
Bartelt's MAG-R horizontal form fill seal (HFFS) poucher will lead an integrated packaging line featuring Quest robotic case packing and palletizing, along with a Matrix vertical bagger.
This high-efficiency rotary HFFS combines a compact footprint with advanced servo motion and magnetic linear track technology, delivering precise pouch forming, filling, sealing, and fast, recipe-based changeovers. During filling, the XTS track uses dynamic magnetic linear motion to shake pouches side-to-side, enhancing product distribution and reducing seal contamination. Its lightweight magnetic bag clamp increases handling speed and throughput, while multiple heat-sealing stations and optional seal-coolers ensure leak-proof pouches.
At PACK EXPO, the MAG-R will run in duplex mode, filling two pouches per index for increased production rates. The MAG-R supports a variety of pouch styles, including roll stock, gusset bottom, Delta Pac stand-up, and Doy stand-up pouches, making it ideal for snacks, candy, powders, cheese, jerky, and many other products.
The MAG-R will serve as the starting point of the integrated line, filling pouches that travel by conveyor to Quest's QX250 Robotic Case Packer before moving downstream to Quest's QB321 robotic palletizer.
Attendees will see the line's flexibility as it transitions from horizontal pouching to vertical bagging, featuring the Matrix MVC-300 VFFS bagger to showcase how multiple ProMach technologies can adapt to different packaging formats and production needs.
BIC-S Cartoner Integration with INVpack Stickpack Technology
Bartelt is also demonstrating the BIC-S cartoner integrated with an INVpack SP6 stickpack machine, creating a complete stickpack-to-carton packaging system.
The BIC-S is an intermittent motion automatic cartoner engineered for flexibility and reliability in compact production environments. Its space-saving four-by-six-foot footprint makes it ideal for facilities where floor space is at a premium, while speeds of up to 60 cartons per minute support a wide range of production requirements. Features such as product-carton verification, tuck- or glue-closure options, digital size-change readouts, and an open-frame design help simplify operation, maintenance, and changeovers.
Attendees will see stickpacks produced on the INVpack SP6 automatically transferred to the Bartelt BIC-S for cartoning. Together, the technologies simplify the transition from flexible primary packages to finished cartons while reducing manual handling between packaging operations.
This integrated solution highlights the breadth of packaging technologies available through ProMach and the advantages of combining complementary equipment into a streamlined packaging operation.
Umbra UP 1200 Large-Format Bagging Capabilities
Rounding out Bartelt's PACK EXPO exhibit is the Umbra UP 1200 large-format bagger, designed to deliver fast, accurate, and contamination-free packaging of heavy, bulk quantities of granular products. Engineered for flexibility, it supports multiple bag styles, filling formats, and closure systems while maintaining a smooth, gusset-preserving fill that helps protect both product quality and bag appearance. A highly accurate electronic weighing system and multi-position bag magazine enable the machine to adapt easily to varying production requirements.
Built on Umbra's all-in-one platform, the UP 1200 reduces equipment complexity while maximizing efficiency and reliability. Features such as a gusset-protective filling system, bag mouth cleaning technology, and proprietary bag alignment capabilities help ensure clean fills and consistent, high-quality seals. Its dust-free operation further supports product integrity by minimizing contamination in demanding production environments.
Ideal for industries such as pet food, fertilizer, building materials, minerals, grains, and ingredients, the UP 1200 can operate as a standalone machine or as part of a fully integrated packaging line. Compatible with Umbra and ProMach palletizing and downstream automation solutions, the system provides manufacturers with a scalable path from bag filling through end-of-line packaging.
The exhibit also highlights the 2025 strategic partnership between Bartelt and Italian machinery manufacturer Umbra Packaging, for which Bartelt serves as the exclusive North American distributor. Backed by Bartelt's US-based sales, parts, service, and integration support, the partnership expands Bartelt’s portfolio beyond pouching and cartoning to include large-format bagging, palletizing, and downstream automation solutions. Together, Bartelt and Umbra can support applications ranging from small flexible packages to bulk bags within a unified packaging operation.
