City of St. Johns, MI has been selected by Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America and Select Milk Producers Inc. as the preferred location for their new joint venture—a large-scale cheese and whey production facility.

Subject to meeting certain conditions, the City of St. Johns, MI has been selected by Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America and Select Milk Producers Inc. as the preferred location for their new joint venture—a large-scale cheese and whey production facility that is expected to be commissioned in the last quarter of 2020. Estimated to cost $470 million, the facility is projected to process 8 million pounds of milk per day into 300 million lb per year of cheese, as well as whey products. The site will employ approximately 250 individuals when it is in full production.
