PepsiCo Aims for 100% Renewable Electricity Globally

The company has joined the RE100 initiative, setting new goals for direct operations, its entire franchise, and third-party operations.

PepsiCo Inc. has set new targets to achieve 100% renewable electricity globally by 2030 and across entire franchise and third-party operations by 2040. Considering PepsiCo’s reach, attaining its goals could potentially reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 2.5 million metric tons by 2040.

PepsiCo is planning to utilize a number of solutions to achieve 100% renewable electricity globally, including Power Purchase Agreements to support the development of projects, such as solar and wind farms around the world, and purchasing energy certificates to enable the near-term transition to renewable sources.
