2017 Sustainability Excellence in Manufacturing Award winner: Hormel recycles foam pads that come in the shipping containers for its tomatoes and its food-contact plastics. Hormel also launched a campaign to inform employees about these new initiatives and encourage them to take part in the recycling programs. These programs have resulted in a 20 percent improvement in recycling.
