PepsiCo elects Ramon Laguarta as new CEO

Indra K. Nooyi will leave office this fall.

The PepsiCo, Inc. board of directors has unanimously elected Ramon Laguarta to succeed Indra K. Nooyi as chief executive officer. In his 22 years at PepsiCo, Laguarta has held several executive and general management roles, including president of PepsiCo; chief executive officer, Europe Sub-Saharan Africa; and president, PepsiCo Eastern Europe region.

On Oct. 3, Nooyi will be relinquishing the leadership position she has held for the last 12 years. However, she will remain chairman until early 2019.
