Hey everybody, I'm Dustin Lee, Vice President of Sales at Morrison Container Handling Solutions. You can check us out here at PACK EXPO Las Vegas in Booth West Hall 3522.
Today we're showcasing a lot of different pieces of machinery, but right here we're highlighting our inline robotic orienter. So what we're doing with this machine is we are looking for the embossment that is on a specific side of a container and making sure that it's in the proper orientation and consistent orientation for downstream operation.
In this machine, we are using a HANS IV 3 camera and working with an EPSON robot to be able to actually orient the containers into a consistent position. We utilize timing screws to control the bottle, get a consistent pitch, and make sure that we make the life easier for the robot itself. So let's see it in action.
You notice the containers coming in, as the camera takes an image of where that embossment is. The robot knows exactly where it's at because of the the positive control being inside of the timing screw, and then the robot will come down, we'll grab hold of it and we'll rotate the container as short distance as possible to make sure that the embossment of that label is in a consistent location. So sometimes that means it'll rotate at 0 degrees, sometimes it'll rotate it 90 degrees clockwise, 90 degrees counterclockwise or 4180, and as you'll notice that once they come out, they're all in a perfectly consistent orientation.
