The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) has announced the six finalists that will be participating in the first IFTNEXT Food Disruption Challenge. Designed to help emerging and investment-ready food companies advance the science of food, the competition will take place on July 17 at IFT18 in Chicago, Illinois.
The six finalists are C-Fu Foods, an ingredient innovation company that is developing insect-based, value-added food ingredients; Inductive Intelligence, a packaging technology company that is making it possible to use a mobile phone battery charger to heat foods and drinks in disposable packages; Nebullam food technology company, which is combining aeroponic systems with artificial intelligence technology to enhance growing methods; CPG and ingredient company Renewal Mill, which makes superfood ingredients and foods from the unused fiber and starch byproducts of legumes, vegetables and fruits; Rise Products, which converts organic byproducts into sustainable food products; and agricultural technology company Re-Nuble, which turns food waste into chemical-free, organic nutrients.
