The Contract Packaging Association (CPA) today announces a new strategic partnership with PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. The agreement enables the CPA to bring added value to members while expanding the association’s vital role in the contract packaging and contract manufacturing industry.
Under the terms of the agreement, PMMI will provide administrative, technical and marketing support. The CPA believes this will boost capabilities, presence, and valuable member services.
“We are, and will continue to be, an independent association,” said Tim Koers, CPA president. “It’s all about value and growth. Our industry will exceed $75 billion by 2020; continuing to grow about four times faster than the markets it serves. Our role, as the leading association for contract packaging and manufacturing, is to continue to innovate on behalf of our members. We will be able to do more for our members, enabling them to address better the markets they serve.”
Now in its 26th year, the CPA’s mission is to support the industry and member companies through education, awareness, lead generation and best practices. Since its founding, the CPA has continued to upgrade and expand its member support services. This enhanced relationship is the next logical step in the association’s evolution.
“We have a long and successful relationship with PMMI,” said Ron Puvak, CPA managing director, “This new agreement builds on an already existing relationship that has included the publishing of Contract Packaging Magazine, conference participation and other services. Going forward as a strategic partner, PMMI brings more value to the CPA, benefiting our members, our industry and the companies they serve.”
This partnership also supports PMMI’s vision to be the leading global resource for the packaging and processing supply chain.
“Our core purpose is to unite the industry across the manufacturing supply chain, and this enhanced relationship with CPA will help us to do that,” says Jim Pittas, PMMI president and CEO. “PMMI and CPA members share common goals and will partner together to address packaging and processing challenges.”
The agreement takes effect July 1. CPA members will begin receiving additional updates soon.
