VDG (Van der Graaf) has unveiled its latest generation of hygienic SSV Series Drum Motors, which feature a new premium-efficiency electric motor that provides continuous operation for 80,000 hours before maintenance. All drive components, such as the electric motor, gear reducer and bearings, are housed inside the drive drum, shielded from the environment, designed for reliability and durability.
All stainless-steel SSV Drum Motors are USDA-approved, have an IP69k-rated sealing system, and withstand washdown pressure up to 3,000 psi. For modular conveyor belts, the belt profile is machined directly on the drive drum or on an exchangeable profiled sleeve (SSV-XP) to drive the belt without using sprockets. This eliminates crevices that trap by-products and reduces washdown time and water usage by 50%. SSV Series Drum Motors provide the most hygienic drive solution for food processing and handling belt conveyor applications.
