Tetra Pak has announced it will be investing almost $36 million to upgrade its packaging material converting factory in Denton, Texas. The plant’s expanded capabilities will include a new state-of-the-art laminator to meet the evolving needs of the U.S. and Canadian markets. In addition to positioning the plant as one of the most advanced facilities in Tetra Pak’s global operations, the investment will allow the company to move some production from Mexico to Denton. Building out additional space at the facility is expected to begin in the near future; the new equipment is projected to be in full production by the end of next year.

Mars Food, a business unit of Mars Inc., is opening a new 20,000-square-foot North American headquarters in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood. Approximately 75 employees will be working at the facility, which is scheduled to open this October.

TricorBraun has acquired Continental Packaging Associates, a Pennsylvania-based, family-owned packaging supplier. Continental Packaging Associates will begin doing business as TricorBraun immediately; its owners will remain in management roles with TricorBraun.
