Marlen International, Inc., a subsidiary of Chicago-based Duravant LLC, has acquired Unitherm Food Systems, Inc. Since 1985, Unitherm has designed and manufactured hygienic cooking, chilling, pasteurizing, and freezing equipment for food processors worldwide, in addition to offering a full suite of value-added services, complete lines, and integrated systems. The company will join the Marlen family of distinct food industry brands, and will continue to be based in its current manufacturing, sales, and test facilities, while gaining access to Marlen’s world-class Solution Center and customer support operations in Riverside, MO.

Marlen International manufactures highly engineered food processing equipment and systems specializing in high-quality proteins and a variety of other food products. Its pumping, stuffing, portioning, size reduction, thermal processing, and food handling products are sold under the brand names of Marlen, Carruthers, and Afoheat. The Unitherm acquisition expands Marlen’s ability to deliver custom, best-of-breed continuous thermal and chilling food processing equipment and strengthens Marlen’s solutions for the meat and protein sector.
