Michael Foods to build new facility

Post Holdings, Inc. has announced its Michael Foods business will be building an $85 million, 150,000-sq.-ft. egg and pre-cooked egg processing and distribution facility in Norwalk, Iowa. The company is expected to begin construction this summer and to complete the project in 2019. Initially, the new facility is expected to create 100 to 150 new jobs. The largest processor of value-added eggs in the United States, Michael Foods is based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Post Holdings, Inc. is a consumer packaged goods holding company that operates in the center of the store, foodservice, food ingredient, refrigerated, active nutrition and private label food categories. Its Post Consumer Brands business includes brands such as Honey Bunches of Oats, Pebbles, Great Grains and Malt-O-Meal bag cereal. Through its refrigerated retail business, Post offers potato, egg, sausage and cheese products through the Bob Evans, All Whites, Better’n Eggs, Simply Potatoes and Crystal Farms brands.
