NECCO has surprise new owner

Metropoulos family business buys company

Sweetheart Candy Co. LLC, an entity owned by the Metropoulos family, has spent $17.3 million to buy the New England Confectionery Company (NECCO). The deal follows NECCO’s bankruptcy filing in April and the subsequent auction process. NECCO will now be a part of Sweetheart Candy Co. LLC.
