Cargill has developed a Protect Our Planet plan that describes the actions it’s taking to achieve 100 percent cocoa bean traceability, as well as the elimination of further conversion of any forest land in Ghana and Ivory Coast for cocoa production. The plan also expands the company’s forest efforts to Brazil, Indonesia, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Ghana, in addition to the indirect cocoa supply chain.

The plan details how Cargill will achieve its five sustainability goals (supply chain transparency; the Cocoa Promise program that expands existing environmental programs; supplier engagement; transformation, together; and reporting & sharing) to attain traceability and eliminate deforestation from its supply chain by 2030.
