Sonoco ThermoSafe, a unit of Sonoco and provider of temperature assurance packaging for the transport of pharmaceuticals, biologics, vaccines and other temperature-sensitive products, has announced the creation of the Orion r temperature controlled box rental service. This service will feature the new Orion r line of temperature-controlled packaging, featuring vacuum panel insulation encased in a lightweight, rugged EPP shell designed for improved durability and thermal duration. The Orion r line is made with optional on-board telemetry, meant to allow biopharmaceutical clients access to cloud-based temperature and geolocation data for shipment visibility and quality assurance.
Sonoco Thermosafe offers one-stop rental service for each existing temperature controlled container mode and size through Orion r. The company says they can also customize their supply chain to rent high performance temperature-controlled packaging as small as a five liter Orion r passive unit, to the first passive pallet unit load device, the Pegasus ULD—all in the same locations.
