Marfrig and ADM Launch Joint Venture

The two companies have formed PlantPlus Foods, which will offer a variety of finished plant-based food products.

Marfrig and ADM have completed regulatory approvals to formally launch PlantPlus Foods, a Chicago-based joint venture that will offer a portfolio of sustainable plant-based foods for consumers in North and South America, with the ability to reach other global markets. Marfrig, one of the world’s leading beef producers and the world’s largest beef patty producer, owns 70% of the venture; ADM, a leading global nutrition company, owns 30%.

Marfrig will be responsible for finished product production and distribution, utilizing its facilities in South America and its facilities in the U.S. ADM will supply technical expertise, application development, and a range of plant-based ingredients, flavors, and systems from its specialty protein complex in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil and its network of U.S.-based ingredient and flavor facilities.
