Nestlé has undertaken the goal of ensuring by 2025 that none of its packaging, including plastics, ends up in landfills or as litter through the use of only 100 percent recyclable or reusable packaging.

To achieve its goal, the company will focus on eliminating nonrecyclable plastics, using plastics with greater recycling rates, and either changing or no longer using complex combinations of packaging materials. It will also participate in developing collection, sorting and recycling programs in countries where it operates; work with industry associations, as well as its value chain partners, to explore packaging solutions to reduce the use of plastic, facilitate recycling and develop new approaches to eliminate plastic waste; and include recycling information on its plastic packaging to encourage consumers to dispose of it properly.
