General Mills has reduced energy consumption at 26 of its largest US-based plants by over 20 percent, reaching its 10-year goal four years early. The company has saved more than 2 million MMBTUs of energy over the last six years, and as of 2018, it had completed 60 energy-efficiency and reduction projects. The U.S. Department of Energy recognized the company’s efforts in meeting the agency’s Better Plants Challenge.
