Process equipment manufacturer Automated Flexible Conveyor, Clifton, NJ, has introduced a sanitary model of its tiltable AFC SPIRALFEEDER® flexible screw conveyor. Developed for use in food, dairy, pharmaceutical, and other sanitary facilities struggling with space constraints, the new screw conveying system features stainless steel construction with continuous welds polished to a smooth surface finish of 32 Ra set in a steel frame protected with a USDA-compliant coating. The sanitary tiltable conveyor automatically transfers powders, pellets, and other dry, bulk ingredients via enclosed auger screw from its integrated hopper up to discharge, then may be lowered at the press of a button for low profile rolling to another location.
Designed for fast changeovers, the portable sanitary conveyor system invites safe, full access to the hopper interior, screw, and FDA/USDA-approved outer tube for thorough cleaning and quick visual inspections. The ingredient handling system comes with a choice of spiral screw types as standard to suit any free flowing or non-free flowing material while custom accessories such as a material agitator, lump breaker, and dust cover, are offered as options.
The tilting powder conveyor is designed and manufactured at the company's New Jersey facility. Product testing is offered in the on-site test lab prior to delivery and installation.
