Glass continues to regain lost share and will retain its volume share through 2020 as consumers welcome premium and indulgent products—water, juices, and alcohol. Metal cans are also losing to glass bottles, especially with the continued growth of craft breweries. PET will continue to grow with bottled water and soft drinks.

Euromonitor International, who produced the study for PMMI Business Intelligence, compiles data points and qualitative analysis for 80 countries. Markets include Beauty and Personal Care, Beverages, Dog and Cat Food, Home Care and Packaged Food. Both primary and secondary retail packages are studied, including internet sales.
