In making the announcement, PEF president Leonard Byrne of Cryovac said PEF's Board selected General Mills both for its long-continuing support of packaging education and general community involvement as well as for its recent emphasis on packaging as a means of increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and obtaining a larger share of a very competitive market. The company has contributed management expertise and financial support to the PEF for many years. PEF also announced the election of the 1995 class to be inducted into its Packaging Hall of Fame: Aaron Brody, managing director, Rubbright * Brody, Atlanta, GA; Peter Henningsen, packaging consultant, Minnetonka, MN; Marvin Kufahl, University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, WI; and William Sturgis, president of the Cryovac Div. of W.R. Grace & Co., Inc., Duncan, SC.
General Mills is Leader of the Year
The Packaging Education Forum has named General Mills, Inc., its 1995 Packaging Leader of the Year. The Minneapolis-based firm is ranked second worldwide in the cereal market and is well known for brands that include Betty Crocker, Gold Medal, Wheaties and Yoplait.
