Nestlé Waters rolls out How2Recycle label

The initiative will include all of its major U.S. bottled water brands, which will be labeled with clear, concise recycling instructions.

To help Americans increase recycling in their communities, Nestlé Waters North America has become the first beverage manufacturer in North America to add the How2Recycle label to all its major U.S. bottled water brands. The company anticipates completing the massive transition and roll out by September 2017.

This on-package recycling label program gives clear, concise instructions to consumers. How2Recycle is driven by a coalition of the nation’s leading brands, which are investing in recycling to combat America’s increasing waste challenges.

Nestlé Waters’ involvement with How2Recycle is one of several initiatives the company is taking to improve recycling nationwide, including:

  • Achieving the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification at its Ontario, CA, location to become the first AWS site in North America
  • Providing a $6 million investment to the Closed Loop Fund, a social impact fund that is investing millions to increase recycling of products and packaging
  • Participating in the New Plastics Economy, which is a three-year initiative to drive forward a circular economy to reduce waste
  • Developing a partnership with national partner Keep America Beautiful in several states
