Resins for beverage

Shell Chemical's (Houston, TX) new grades of Cleartuf® PET thermoplastic resins aim to offer soft drink and mineral water bottlers outstanding physical properties.

Cleartuf Aqua resin is said to provide excellent clarity and color characteristics for waters, as well as a low acetaldehyde content. Resins in the Cleartuf 16 Series, for soft drink containers, are said to take less energy to reach necessary temperatures for blow molding. The Series is available in intrinsic viscosities of 0.80 dl/g and 0.84 dl/g.
