Coca-Cola Introducing Bottles Made From 100% Recycled Materials

The innovation addresses plastic waste and reduces the company’s use of new plastic across its North American portfolio by more than 20% compared to 2018.

Coke R Pet Portfolio

The Coca-Cola Company is introducing bottles made from 100% recycled plastic material (rPET) to the U.S. market. Beginning this month, Coca-Cola, Coke Zero Sugar, Diet Coke, and Coca-Cola flavors in 20-oz 100% rPET bottles will be distributed in California and New York; the rollout will continue in Texas this spring. Dasani and smartwater will introduce the bottles in March and July, respectively.

In addition, this month, select markets will see new 13.2-oz 100% rPET clear bottles from Sprite. The clear package makes it easier for the bottles to be recycled and remade into new bottles. Sprite will be available in clear packaging nationwide by the end of next year.
