Conagra Brands has issued its Fiscal 2021 Citizenship Report, which shares the company’s progress against key environmental, social, and governance (ESG initiatives) and its actions that support the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Among Conagra’s sustainability achievements are:
- Making approximately 93% of its packaging materials by volume renewable, recyclable, or compostable to combat the growing issue of waste from plastic packaging and achieve its goal to make 100% of its current plastic packaging renewable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025
- · Conserving 64 million gal of water, decreasing its carbon footprint by 91,000 metric tons, reducing waste by more than 12,300 tons, and minimizing material use by 17.6 million lb through its annual employee-led Sustainable Development Awards program
In addition, the report includes supplementary ESG data addressing the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Standards, elements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, and CDP disclosures related to climate change, water stress, and deforestation.
