Taking place on Sept. 24 at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, the 2017 PMMI Foundation Golf Tournament will be raising more than $40,000, according to PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. Once again, the tournament is a sellout, with all the player slots filled and a total of 33 sponsors.
Through the foundation, PMMI supports the packaging and processing industry’s developing workforce, as well as the current labor pool, with scholarships, support for student travel to PACK EXPO and PACK EXPO student initiatives, such as The Amazing Packaging Race, the Future Innovators Robotics Showcase and the NextGen Networking Fair. In total, the foundation distributes nearly $100,000 annually to fund initiatives to encourage students in their pursuit of careers in packaging and processing, in addition to tuition reimbursement for PMMI member company employees’ continued education.
The tournament is being held in conjunction with PACK EXPO Las Vegas, which will take place from Sept. 25 to 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. PACK EXPO Las Vegas and the co-located Healthcare Packaging EXPO will bring together more than 30,000 attendees, including 5,000 international visitors from more than 125 countries, combined with 2,000-plus exhibiting companies spanning nearly 900,000 net square feet of a nearly sold-out exhibit floor.
