Champion Petfoods and Gray Join in Ribbon-cutting Ceremony

Celebration commemorates opening of new NorthStar specialty pet food operation

Champion Petfoods Ribbon Cutting

Champion Petfoods, the maker of the ORIJEN and ACANA brands of dog and cat foods, has opened the 426,247-sq-ft NorthStar Kitchens facility in Acheson, Alberta, Canada. The operation features three dry food production lines, along with an onsite distribution warehouse and logistics center fitted for handling multiple fresh and local ingredients, including fresh meats, vegetables, and high-quality ingredients sourced from 14 Alberta farmers, ranchers, and suppliers.

Gray, a fully integrated service provider deeply rooted in engineering, architecture, and construction services, managed the project, which broke ground in 2017. Champion and Gray have been strategic partners for more than seven years, beginning with the construction of Champion’s world-class DogStar Kitchens in the U.S.
