McCormick buying UK sauce maker

McCormick & Co. is set to pay $4.2 billion to acquire UK-based Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC’s food division, whose brands include French’s mustard, Frank’s RedHot brand and Cattlemen’s barbecue sauces.

 

Schwan’s Company has acquired Better Baked Foods and Drayton Foods from NE Foods Inc. The terms of the sale were not disclosed. In June, Schwan’s bought MaMa Rosa’s Pizza, based in Sidney, Ohio.

 

A Swedish manufacturer of individual quick freezing freezer tunnels, OctoFrost Group has taken over 100 percent of the shares of Innotec Systems BV, which manufactures customized industrial food processing machinery and industrial food processing lines.

 

Snyder’s-Lance is going to invest $7.8 million to expand its Baptista’s Bakery facility. The project will include building, machinery and equipment updates, and is expected to create 125 jobs.

 

Motion Industries, Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Numatic Engineering, with the execution of the transaction scheduled to occur on August 1.
