Kraft Heinz buying health-conscious food maker

The company will pay $200 million to acquire Primal Kitchen.

The Kraft Heinz Company has entered into a definitive agreement to pay approximately $200 million to purchase Primal Nutrition, LLC, the makers of Primal Kitchen branded products, which include condiments, sauces and dressings, as well as healthy snacks and other categories. The Primal Kitchen current leadership team will continue run the autonomous company, whose headquarters will remain in Oxnard, California. Subject to customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to be completed in early 2019.
