Ferrero new owner of Keebler cookies and more

Kellogg Company has closed the sale of Keebler cookies and other selected businesses to the Ferrero Group and its related companies. Included in the $1.3 billion cash transaction are the Mother’s, Famous Amos, Murray’s and Murray’s Sugar Free brands, cookies manufactured for the Girl Scouts, Fruity Snacks fruit-flavored snacks, Stretch Island fruit Strips, the pie crusts and ice cream cones businesses. Kellogg will retain the remainder of its North America snacking businesses, including its crackers, salty snacks, wholesome snacks and toaster pastries brands.
