Fourth Annual Packaging Automation Forum

March 31 of 2009 brings the fourth rendition of a unique one-day educational forum brought to you by Packaging World and Automation World: The Packaging Automation Forum.

This event explores the benefits of leading-edge controls and information technologies for packagers and packaging machinery builders.

Since 2006, hundreds of packaging professionals and OEMs have attended this annual educational and networking event to hear their peers share automation strategies that employ state-of-the-art packaging equipment and technology. The Packaging Automation Forum 2009 will look at packaging operations from a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, beverage, food, and consumer packaged goods in general.

Presenter Mark Hanley, Worldwide Performance Indicator Program Manager at Kraft Foods, will discuss how Kraft improves speed to market by utilizing accurate measurement of OEE and firm control over real-time data to enable operational flexibility. Allen Moore of snack manufacturer Lance Inc. will share their successes integrating packaging operations into their ERP system. Other session topics include use of wireless technology in packaging; an HMI system that delivers packaging line performance metrics from multiple facilities; technology that connects marking and coding machines with MES and ERP to enable pharmaceutical serialization; and a look at standards.
