The National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) announces NMFC Packaging Webinar Series

Carriers, shippers, 3PLs, and packaging professionals will take part in the 2014 NMFC Packaging Webinar Series; NMFTA will present the series over three consecutive weeks this fall, from September 17-October 1.

The series will start with a Module highlighting the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) and the transportation characteristics used by the Commodity Classification Standards Board (CCSB) to determine freight class and how packaging directly affects the transportation characteristics.

Hosted by Erin Topper, Packaging & Classification Consultant for the CCSB, the webinars will provide detailed instruction in NMFC packaging definitions, specifications and requirements. Future topics will cover Classification Development, the Application of Packaging and Package Design Concepts.

NMFTA Executive Director Paul Levine said, “We developed this webinar series in response to the continual stream of inquiries we receive from shippers, carriers and other companies regarding proper packaging of freight moving by motor carrier.”

The series is presented on consecutive Wednesdays.
