Britvic takes aim at children

Pleased with consumer response to its custom black “dumb bell” bottle for Tango soft drinks in a 500-mL size, UK soft drinks manufacturer Britvic has launched a 250-mL PET version aimed squarely at children.

Injection stretch blow molded of polyethylene terephthalate, the new bottles are supplied by Constar UK (Wantage, Oxon, England). The bottles sell singly for about 40 pence (U.S. 61¢) in convenience store-style outlets, or in supermarkets for about £1.30 (U.S.$1.97) per six-count paperboard carrier.

“Constar UK’s innovative approach to design has resulted in the development of a unique bottle, ideally placed for the children’s market,” says Britvic brand marketer Jane McEvoy. “The bottles have a fun feel and are practical at the same time.”
