Smucker achieves 2020 environmental goals

The J. M. Smucker Company has met several of its “Thriving Together” Corporate Impact Initiatives—a year ahead of deadline.

 Among the achievements are:

• Attaining its 2020 goal of reducing annual waste from landfills by 95 percent
• Reducing water use intensity by more than 15 percent
• Signing a long-term virtual power purchase agreement to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions significantly and ensure that, by 2020, approximately 50 percent of its total electricity use is addressed by wind energy
