Packages for non-carbonated beverages

Packagers of juices, sports drinks, ready-to-drink teas and new-age beverages have dramatically increased their use of plastic in the last six years, primarily at the expense of glass and cans.

These figures, which exclude dairy and water products, represent beverage processors' average utilization of each material for the years shown. The findings are based on annual telephone surveys of over 2ꯠ beverage plants in IAFIS's database, which the association says represents nearly all such plants in the U.S. and Canada.
