
With recreational and medical-use cannabis use on the rise, manufacturers have needed to stay on top of innovations, production, and regulatory requirements. LeHerbe has taken on the challenge of perfecting a process that helps the brand thrive.
LeHerbe entered the cannabis market in 2014 and launched cannabis-infused ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages that used nanoemulsions to create stable and bioavailable formulations. However, the company realized it needed to extend its beverage shelf life by converting liquid to powder. This resulted in the development of ready-to-mix (RTM) THC-infused single-serving drink powders that dissolve instantly in hot or cold liquids.
Jay Grillo, founder and CEO of LeHerbe, spoke on the science and process of making the company’s powder products, as reported by Aaron Hand.
“Our cannabis powder is a collection of microparticles; they mimic the resin heads of stalked glandular trichomes,” Grillo explained. “The thin layer of wax present on the cuticle surface of the cannabis trichomes can be substituted with commercially available ingredients.”
Furthermore, LeHerbe used three key methods to help fulfill their production needs.
