Built for the discharge of powders and other dry products for mixing and processing further downstream, the Palamatic bag opening station is typically used with 20- and 50-lb bags and sacks. With the Minislit automated bag opening station, a sack is fed onto a roller conveyor that transfers it into the cutting chamber. When the sack hits an internal switch mechanism, a horizontal saw is triggered, and the sack is cut on three sides. Rotating discs grab the package material and pulls it down toward an integrated sack compactor, releasing the dry material for discharge through the central hopper outlet. The package material is compacted via a screw conveyor and contained within a poly-sleeve on the outside of the station. The dump station has opening rates of two to eight bags per minute depending on package type and material.
