Pilgrim’s Pride to buy one of the UK’s top 10 food companies

Brazil-based JBS SA is selling Moy Park, whose sales account for approximately 25 percent of the chicken consumed in Western Europe, to its U.S. subsidiary Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. for $1 billion. Moy Park will continue to be based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, with senior management remaining in place. JBS has controlled Pilgrim’s Pride since 2009.
